SDG 13 — Climate Action
To combat climate change is the biggest challenge of our generation and we have a responsibility of leaving behind a world for the next generations to thrive.
The evident consensus nowadays is that consuming more plant-based food potentially is the most effective way of fighting global climate change whilst providing a sustainable foundation for a future food system. One of the targets of this development goal is to bring down greenhouse gas emissions each year while research and data shows that eating more plant-based is one of the most contributing factors. So, instead of taking shorter showers in the morning or doing other things alike, you should try and start your day with a plant-based breakfast and feel the difference.
Wow, that even sounded like a sportswear slogan.
But seriously, there are so many upsides by integrating plant-based food into your everyday life such as preserving the biodiversity which has an immense impact on the overall ecosystem. You know what the best part is? It tastes amazing, both literally and figuratively, and if we were in management consulting, we would say that's a damn good value proposition. If you're feeling skeptical for some reason, we think that you should listen to natural historian and absolute legend Sir David Attenborough, who, nevertheless, knows a thing or two about climate change: “If we had a mostly plant-based diet we could increase the yield of the land … the wilder and more diverse, the more effective. Nature is our biggest ally” BOOM, mic drop.
